Hi all,
I'm currently on the hunt for a number of items for 8" escort axle drums (i believe timkin axle). However, the local motor factors are
starting to become very unhelpful with parts of this age. Does anyone know of a reliable source of drums, shoes and cylinders etc?
There are bits on ebay but twice now I have fallen foul of the wrong parts turning up for these brakes, plus all of the other associated risks of
unknown origin of parts and postage costs etc.
Any help would be useful. I'm in need of parts fairly quickly!
Cheers,
Andy
is Timken different name for English Axle?
I think there was Salibury or Timken axle too.
there were 2 different types, easily identifiable.
English axle = diff loads in from front.
Other = diff loads in from the back; thinck this has a bolt on plate (I will checkthe hayes to be sure)
re: English axle spares, drums and cylinders can be gotten from AllParts..... but ofcourse you need to give model.year stuff that you man not know.
the cylinders have different diameter - see the Ford Haynes Mk2 escort to reference to model.
