Hi guys, I have got a Sierra Propshaft that has a bearing in the middle for my BEC project. I also have the flange for the R1 to ceonvert to run a
propshaft, however the propshaft I have has only three studs at the end? I assume this is for a rubber gromet or something? How does this then attach
to the flange which has 4 holes? Any pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark
You need to get a new UJ welded on the end instead of the three pronged donut holder thing.
Oh, and then it will need balancing.
Most people buy a custom made new prop due to the potential if it goes wrong.
I know of a few that have failed, one resulting in a fire where the prop span and hit a fuel line. Result - no car.
Pat...
What sort of price are propshafts from a company that are the correct length for a BEC etc? But it is possible just to make up a new flange and weld
it on and get it all balanced?
Cheers Mark
