Pinto oil pump

I have removed the dizzy from my Pinto and covered the mount with a plate as I'm running a megajolt now. Will the oil pump still work without the dizzy being present?

You'll need to retain a dizzy body in there to secure the oil pump drive shaft in place and provide and upper "bearing" for it. I think most people remove the actual workings of the dizzy and then refit it.

No.

You either need to chop up the dizzy, or just leave it in there. Its hardly in the way!

Glad I asked, thanks!

I modded my dizzy after fitting megajolt. Just hacked off the main body where the rotor arm sits and filed it round. Cut the shafty a bit so it just stuch through upper bearing. Worked well and original clamp can be used to hold it in place.
