Crossflow Dizzy and Ignition
BAS - 10/6/22 at 06:52 PM

My crossflow has a 25D lucas dizzy with a Hall effect sensor and what looks like a Lucas amplifier. Unfortunately the trigger wheel is missing (never had it running). It seems that the rotor arm should have had the trigger moulded to it, and these seem to be unobtainable. The ignition will spark if I trigger the sensor, so it would have worked at sometime.

The engine is an unknow quantity to me but has lot of trick performance parts, and I assume a hot cam. 1700 dry sump twin 45's good compression and oil pressure comes up on the starter motor. so worth pursuing.

My question is would the dizzy offered by Burtons work as a direct replacement for my current setup? It seems to have a built in amplifier so the old Lucas one would be redundant.

I don't what to go the mappable ignition route for the time being. But any advice would be welcome.

Cheers, thanks for the links.

Seem I should get away with this.

So replace the existing sensor and the amp, and just fit this to my existing dizzy?

Just ordered the Powerspark kit. I'll see how it go's, and report back.

Thanks
