are the rear diffs the same on all sierra's or are they different for the diesels

on the granada that uses a similar diff, most petrols had 3.64 or so and the diesel is listed in the ford manual with my donor as being 3.9 or so. to my mind i would have expected it to be lower, but there ya go.

Ive been looking very closely at sierra diffs so I could choose the right sierra for by build, if you look on the chassis plate second box up on the left there will be a single letter code relating to the diff

I have checked a load of sierras, (I get quite a few in work), the diesels have the D diff (cannot speak for 2.3 diesels, wont allow them on site!), the D diff is also on the 1.8 CVH amongst others.
