RV8 Running on
Hi all
I have a minor problem that I would appreciate suggestions on.
I have a Rover V8 in my Viento and it sometimes runs on just a second or two after switching off. It's on the Lucas electronic distributor (ex
Range Rover 1986) and converted to a Weber/Edelbrock 500 carb. The mixture and timing have been professionally set and it flew through it's
emissions tests.
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thank you
Simon

Too reasons could be either overfuelling or tickover set too high.

Hi simon, there are only a few things that will cause it, Idle speed to high (adjust it down until it no longer runs on.), timing out (but you say it
was set up profesionally and it flew through the SVA, so leave it alone.), mixture incorrect (again it was ok for SVA so leave it alone), engine over
heating ( you would kind of notice this from the temperature gauge.).
I would try the simplest first turn the tick over down, when hot your engine should feel comfortable ticking over at about 650 - 700 rpm.
Hope this helps.
