Fitting upgraded gearkits
Anyone fitted an upgraded gear kit to a type 9 before? I think I have a strip down and rebuild guide for a T9 somewhere....
I have got all the relevant tools, and access to more if needed, so getting it apart isnt a problem.
My gearbox is not in the best condition, and I would really like a useable 1st gear so would like to fit the HD E2 gearkit which BGH sell, but
can't afford the price of an exchange box!
The other question, anyone got a good T9 laying about?
Cheers,
David

Have you thought about fitting a box from a 2.8 Xr4i sierra - higher first gear and long input shaft? - you will need to either mod the input shaft
(wince ) or fit a spacer between the box and bell housing from caterham.
I used one in my pinto indy and it worked well.

I would also be interested in knowing about fitting gear-kits to a type 9 - I have a spare box to play with (ooer!), but I understand that it can be
quite a 'challenge' get everything back in and working properly.
...but I don't mind a challenge!

Anyone more organised than me able to scan/copy the T9 rebuild guide from Kit Car magazine March and April 2007, please?

Nearly finished fitting my gearkit now, its not too bad. Just requires a few special tools and some patience!
I'll grab some piccies in the week if I can.
