anyone any tips on cleaning the inside of a grubby expansion/header tank?

Alloy wheel cleaner, CarPlan, comes in a silver and black box, or use a pressure washer.

(just in case SWMBO reads this)..
I guess the powder + "cocktail shaking time" would do just the same job, but the dishwasher is less effort...

this has been asked at least 2 x previously so a search will give more ideas.

my suggestion is to use sme detergent then put a few glass beads or ball bearing, seal up the tank and shake.

very often the plastic itself is stained so it wil never become transparent.
