Your pretty much sorted with an escort engine. It has the shorter sump and correct water pump and smaller flywheel.
Now you need an early mondeo 1.8 clutch. Quinton hazel cct133 release bearing from a capri/transit. Capri spigot bearing. The part numbers are on
the link above.
For the megajolt ignition you need the escort/mondeo coil pack with plug, edis 4 module with plug from an early cvh escort etc. Crank sensor and plug
with a length of shielded wiring. And megajolt unit of course.
For twin 40's you need manifold, carbs and depending if you want 2d or 3d map you need a tps kit. Or map sensor but tps is easie as you need a
swirl pot etc to balance the vacuum from the 4 inlets..
I will as it happens have a set of twin 40's for sale and a zetec manifold which will be going on here then the bay if they dont sell this week.
U2U me if your interested.

I was in exactly the same boat as you but used motorbike carbs (ZX6r’s) instead of twin 40’s.
I had a silvertop too.
If you want the best out of the engine, check to see what power it gives out.
The silvertop zetecs were prone to sticking hydraulic lifters, caused by Ford giving the wrong oil type.
Check your engine number ID too. This is stamped into the black, if it is RDA it is 105ps, RKC is 115 ps, RQB is 130 ps. This ps value is almost
equivalent to its bhp.
Obviously you want the best, you can uprate the cams pretty easily so, at this time it is probably best to give the head an overhaul, allows you the
chance to clean out the hydraulica lifters too.
You can change the cams to proper 130 spec ones or just use the 2litre Mondeo cams, almost identical to the 130 spec.
So if you start with a 130 spec engine you will get around 150-155 bhp when you include your carbs.
What I used:
• Starter motor (I bought a new one then realised that the one that came with the engine was the same as the new one I bought)
• Capri release bearing (currently still viewable
linky, MK.I 1600 OHC 72-73 and
MKII 1600 OHC 74-ON)
• Sierra spigot bearing (currently still available linky)
• Pinto clutch
• Capri clutch cable (mark I, II and II)
• Megajolt pack
• Make sure you have the EDIS module and connector.
• Appropriate inlet manifold
• Suitable fuel pump, as carbs tend to use less pressure than the standard zetec induction type
Once you have these wired up appropriately and fuelled correctly it should run, mine purrs beautifully!
If you still going down the twin 40’s, I have a suitable brand new manifold never used that I purchased by mistake thinking it would be suitable for
motorbike carbs. PM me if you are interested.
