xr4i gearbox

Can anyone clear this up for me? I've got an xr4i gearbox, which has the longer input shaft. I also have the onger bellhousing that came with it. Do I still need to fit a spacer between bellhousing and gearbox to fit this to a zetec engine, or does the bellhousing do that job for me?

Cheers

Adrian

The V6 bellhousing is too tall at the top and won't bolt to a zetec, Sorry.

It's a normal 4 cylinder bellhousing and a spacer i'm afraid.

As above ^^^^^ also you can get a suitable spacer and longer bolts from Caterham - don't bother trying to make one.

Some people say that you can get away with shortening the input shaft, but I tend to think that this is vandalism of a very good bit of kit.
