Given my DIY CNC Mill/Drill a workout
Needed a bracket for a ZX12R clutch cable.
So feeling a bit crap this week with a winter cold, I sat down at the computer
2 days using the CAD, then over the next 2 days making my Home converted CNC mill/drill do the work.
I think 1/2 a day with a hacksaw, file and a drill would of been easier though.

True - but you're so proud of what you have achieved after 2 days of CAD work etc, otherwise you wouldn't have posted the picture!
It looks awesome BTW... Steve

Do you have any more info on your CNC setup? I've built myself a small CNC 3 axis gantry mill (about 10"x10"x4" work area),
and am just in the process of wiring it up....
It's a hobby in its own right is CNC!
Cheers
Andy
PS, part looks good!
Dammit! Too many decisions....

Looks
worth the effort if you ask me and think of all the energy saved from not having to drill and file all that

Tidy work that and a proper job, we have a little micro mill at work which is fairly gutless but also a vertical mill and rotary table a nd highky
skilled operator which is much more the biz!

Setup Just like this one LINKY
Mine is a Warco Minor Mill drill, with home made stepper drivers and second hand 5V 1A size 34 stepper motors.
With a Y axis Ballscrew upgrade, still saving to do the X axis.
Plus, I used TURBOCNC (DOS/Free download) to drive it through a old PC.
200mhz PC will run it easily, so should be free at that spec.

Might have been quicker with a hacksaw and file but much more physical effort to get something looking that good - nice work!

Well done sir! You can't beat a healthy injection of over-engineered CNC madness!
Our ongoing Phoenix build features loads of one-off CNC parts. Rack mounts, steering column mounts, paddle shift ( in titanium), and an exquisite set
of pedals.....
Mostly done on a Cincinnati Lancer 1250 when nobody is looking. No CAD involved, just programmed directly at the machine.
I assume you have a healthy supply of billet raw material?
If not, we've got more than we will ever need.
Geoff.

Hmm billet goodness.
Looked at the plans to make my own CNC machine but then remembered I only *really* need a bit CNC'ed once in a blue moon and it might be more
cost / time effective to out source it! For me at least!

Nice work
Just wish I had a decent CNC mill.
Homebrew's are just bit slow.
When you upgrade your Lancer Mill to one of these.
LINKY
Can I have your Lancer.
Plus I saw that Honda F1 team had 5 Matsuura's, guessing they are suplus now. May be I shoud give them a call
