cvh carb

hi, 5 weeks to sva, do not want to cut hole in bonnet for air filter, am using pieburgh carb at present, only 25 m/m between air filter mounting and bonnet face, looked into shorter carb, having no joy, any ideas, thanks. my engine at present is a cvh not pinto, do not know how to change my intro

I left my air filter off for the sva, no issues. Cut the hole later and fitted the air filters.

Simular problem with my CVH, left filter off. I have also had the inlet manifold adjusted to put it at a slight angle gains about 1cm.. I plan to put a remote filter on latter..

No major problem leaving it off for such a short period of time. Just be aware that you'll have to re-tune it afterwards when you put the filter on. Certainly worth doing something about it as unless you're really lucky and the bonnet at 25mm is acting as a pulse plate you'll be strangling the engine....
