Zetec Supercharger Calculations

Hello All,

I purchased the Graham Bell Performance Tuning book and was wondering where i can get some technical specifications for some calculations.

I have a 1800 zetec (now with 2l cams) and i've got a M45 blower to throw on it, so details on both would be good. Whilst i'm away from the country and can't work on the car i thought i'd do some maths to keep my hopes up!

Anyone any good websites or info available for me?

Thanks

Thanks.
Any info on the Zetec, there must be tonnes out there. Bore and stroke? Cam profile details (2Litre cams), valve timings? CR? HP and Torque?

Recommended max boost on Zetec or type of intercooler to use?

Ive got the eaton supercharger map and some other info (i think, if ive still got it) that you can have. I was going to put one on my 2.9 V6 later on....
The map (and eaton website) will give you enough information to tell you the RPM of the blower pulley, max bost pressure etc.
Send me your email address, and ill email it to you.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Any help? With 40mm TBs and a 2.0l set of cams my 1.8l produced 150bhp on Emeralds RR.

Hmmm, sorry not really. I'm looking for some numbers to crunch to see what power i will get from supercharging the zetec 1.8 with a M45?

Thanks anyway.

On any standard engine at the std CR you are looking at a max safe boost of between 6 and 8 psi. Even that will give you a 50% (or there abouts) volumetric efficiency increase.

You'll also definately need an intercooler to make the most of it.

A fair while ago when I got bored and decided to boost my MX6 I made a little xls to get a rough idea of what pulley sizes gave what boost figures, I had an M45 in the garage (which was too small really but worked fine) so it's set up for that, just change the relevant white boxes and see if it helps, it's probably more of a random number generator in reality though
It was spot on on the boost figures but 10bhp too high on the power.
