ZX9r E not turning over
Hi all, tried to start the engine today before stripping for painting and its not turning over...
The fuel pump can be heard when you press the start button but the starter is not turning.
All I have noticed so far is that the brown wire from the ignition switch was damaged so I re- connected and the starter relay is not clicking.
I've testing the starter motor directly and it works fine.
Any ideas will be of great help

Is the fuse blown if there's been some cable damage?

are you sure your're doing the start switch rather than kill switch? And is the engine earthed?
It would be quite easy to sort with a multimeter and the wiring diagram!

fuses for the ignition ect are all ok.. engine is earthed...kill switch in the run position
On the wiring diagram there is a diode in the ignition key switch and it connects to the brown wire, could this need replacing as ive cut the brown
wire to replair it?
One more thing is that I have not put the fuses in for headlights, horn, fan.. but don't think it makes any difference??
I'll chech the starter relay tomorrow as the manual states it should click when tring to start??

It's not the engine that the problem, is it?

I take it you've had the starter out so it's not sticking/locked or however you put it? I know the remedy in a car is to rock it gently to
free it..
Also is the battery good? Oil in the engine etc? Sounds simple but with me it is the simple things I persume are good that's the problem

Jools has stopped answering questions about this problem, for some reason. Perhaps he's got it going now?
