Why not use a Gas turbine to drive a super charger

I've always wondered about using electric motors, but the huge powers required prevent pratical soloutions.

But this may be an alternative.

I am sure a while back somebody had done something like this with a 205 gti Pug.

It was a road car and featured in one of the mag's either PPP or Retro cars.

Did she actually say that puma went from 0-60 in 1.8 seconds?

I respect that they've put a lot of work into that car, but why a puma? Those are so ugly!

Isnt it illegal to have two engines in a car?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Not in the world of speed events it isn't.

Off the top of my head, both Force and OMS have had twon engined cars.

Not that the Mannic is a twin engined car anyway. Not in my opinion anyway.
Besides which, it's really just an oddball distraction next to all the F1 powered cars in the paddock.

its not illegal, just curious how they would class it? Surely it cant be eligable in something like:

"under 1500cc forced induction"

On the road I believe it is illegal to have two engines and run both at once, but nothing to stop you having one as an ornament!

i think the problem with using a gas turbine as a super charger would be, that the gas turbine engine will be running at full pelt, when the engine may not be. fine for full throttle drag racing i suppose though.

super chargers change speed directly with engine speed, and turbos change with the amount of exhaust gas produced.
