LSD diff oil cooling?
If one runs a flat foor one also runs into the risk of the diff overheating from what i have read.
Intuitively I would fit a small electric pump and oil cooler to cater for this and just tap feed and return into the casing in suitable places.
The sierra LSD from what ive read runs a silicon fluid rather than oil? How does one go about cooling this?

Not got a link but Demon Tweeks do an oil cooler kit, might be worth a look.

Depends what use you are putting the car to --- short oval racing yes, forrest rallying yes --- circuit racing probably not, tarmac rally
probably not but sprint/hillclimb road use should definitely not be a problem.

The Sierra lsd viscous coupling uses a very small amount of a viscous silicone 'fluid' between a series of slotted plates.
The main differential gears run in conventional hypoid gear oil.
If you are worried about cooking the viscous coupling then you need to go to an aftermarket lsd - plated or Quaife ATB.

I just assumed the whole diff was full of this silicon fluid. if its enclosed then I just need to cool the normal oil by conventional methods 
I heard that by changing the silicon fluid one could alter the locking characteristics of the diff. It was a gearbox specialist who mentioned it tho
so I guess no user serviceable parts doesnt apply to them :p

I certainly would not recommend taking the viscous coupling apart - it is very sticky fluid and a lot of very delicate plates.
I've taken a few apart to disable the lsd for use on trikes.
I believe there are companies which can uprate the viscous packs by changing the fluid viscosity used.
