R1 2006 5VY sump baffle fitting

Now that ive sorted my list of fixes for the SVA im going to fit my Sump baffle plate, as im going to drive it to the retest

is it a straight forward job to fit it?

do i just drop the sump, fit the baffle in place, then bolt the sump back on?

im planning to do it under the car, as i dont fancy taking the engine out again... after all that i why i have a pit in my garage

ive seen on some of the older engines you have to fit a tulip around the PRV, and drill/tap the block to hold the baffle in place. is this needed with the 5VY?

will i need a new gasket? the engine is new, and done only 10 miles. i presume it will have a paper gasket, and not instant gasket paste?

im going to replace the oil while im doing it, so how much will i need?

Thanks

I fitted mine from underneath, did need a new gasket but had been on a while, you'll only really know when you take it apart and it is tears etc.

I had an allbikes 5PW plate and tulip when I bought the car which I quickly changed to a CNC plate and didn't bother with the tulip (as the allbikes one was breaking up and I'd been convinced its not needed in the 5PW from looking at RGB datalogs etc in Gerrards at Mallory)

Don't know about the drilling and tapping on the 5VY but I needed to do that on my 5PW

No need to drill & tap the 5vy one. The pickup and link pipes hold it in place.

Yoo mught find it easier to get the sump back on if you take out the level sensor before refitting sump.

Also make sure the o-rings on the water pump overflow pipe are seated correctly before re-fitting.
