planning winter engine transplant
ok so iv passed SVA today and im now contemplating my winter engine transplant, currently have 1300 crossflow,
id like to do it as cheap as possible without spending a small fortune, this car has been built at an absolute minimum and id like to stay in the same
vain
i see the options as
Zetec 2.0L
Mazda V6
4Age
what other options can you suggest (not bike engines im not interested)
iv got type 9 box, live axle, and dont fancy going IRS just at the moment
What can you guys/gals suggest??
cheers
chris

i wouldn't bother, i did and i can't get the new engine to run right. done 12 miles since taxing it, and had the new engine out 4 times
(but if i did i'd go 4age)

Gotta be Mazda V6
I can help connect it to a type nine (not sure how long it would last with 200 BHP though )
edit to add - not sure about the type 9 - but then Mx5 box's are cheap and strong !

i do like the mazda v6, i had one of the MX-3's loved it, never stopped revving, would that engine mate straight onto an mx-5 box??

Not quite a straightforward fitting job - but it can be done - I'm in the middle of doing 2 more conversions , 1 for a Fury and another for
an Mx5 .
There's a few pictures in my archive of the work involved........
