Yes it will be a V6 duratec in that. I am not sure if you will be able to use anything else from the donor car tho. Unless you are building a mid
engined car?
I know it will fit in a form of seven chassis, I am sure someone else will be able to help further.
Oh several people have used this engine. Using a T5 gearbox and custom bellhousing I think.

I would consider using one if it was a) good and b) cheap, but there is a cost in terms of extra plumbing (especially exhaust systems) plus you need 6
of what most sevens only need 4 of (eg spark plugs, throttle bodies etc) and I'm not sure the extra performance is worth it

Hi
I had the very same idea as yourself of using the Duratec V6. I have been unable to find anyone that makes a bellhousing to fit. You can get them for
the 2.0 engine but not the V6.
A Jag S-Type gearbox fits straight on, but very expensive.
If you find a solution please let me know.
Cheers

The S type box (Getrag Type-221) does fit, though IIRC it's not a totaly simple bolt on job due some differences between the Jag engine and the
Duratec.
This suggests the Power Torque engineering can supply a suitable bell housing.

No offence to anyone who has one fitted but for the size and weight of them they arnt the greatest engines.
The ST24 had 170bhp from a 2.5 V6. You can easily get that from a Zetec or duratec for less hassle and cost.
I used to have a ST24 and was midly tuned and it went ok but I still think my Skoda VRS (diesel) is quicker.
Of course you do get that lovely sound and with a decent exhaust system it will sound gorgeous!

I think if i was going to the hassle of building something with a difficult engine again i wouldn't choose the st200 engine again.... if you are
making the effort i think i would get a bmw straight six in there.

I've gone back to my original plan, a 24V BOB engine with a T9 box. Can't afford £700+ for a secondhand box of unknown origin + another
£200 for a bellhousing.
Now if I can just make it all work.........

Late reaction, sorry.
I am currently working on a duratec v6 in a MK indy. I chose for the getrag 221 option which bolts on to the lump, it has only a few misalignment
which you need to overcome.
I also used slightly shortened S-type sump and an adjusted oil pick-up.
The propshaft tunnel is JUST enough. You might consider make a little bigger by moving the footwell plates to the inside of the car. Like in the
westfields.
The engine gives 170bhp and an almost eaqual amount of torque, together with a 3.38 or a 3.11 diff. a st200 LIM / UIM and TB and an adjusted ECU you
will close to +/-190 bhp.
The secondaries (valves) are not needed (LIM).

marc.
