sump leakage?
went to the garage to change the oil to find a small puddle of oil directly under the sump. as i dont have any axle stands to have a proper look i
decided to leave it for today. is their a common problem with R1 sump or could it be something a bit more serious?

Have you had the sump off recently?
Could be a missing O ring on the tube that goes in the middle of the sump.
Have you replaced the copper ring on the sump plug when you changed your oil?
Does your sump stick below your chassis and you have hit a speed bump?
All things to check......

Have you had the engine running?
If you've had it up to temperature, the oil gets very thin and any slight leak when its cold becomes a a big leak when its hot.
I had a leak that only showed when it was hot. just check all the bolts are tight.

Guess what, the sump is at the bottom of the engine and 90% of leaks will run down to there and then drip.
Untill you look you'll never know where it's coming from; Unless you think one of us has a crystal ball!
