Balancing Bogg Bros R1 carbs....
Had a mate come and look at my carbs today and he has got them running better but he wants to set them up properly.
He has asked me to remove the inlet manifold and drill and tap an M5 hole in each pipe so that he can attach a device which measures the draw on the
carbs so they can be adjusted to match them all to the number 3.
Should i do this or should i just splash out on what i think is called a manometer or flow meter which is placed into the intake of each carb to
measure the same?
Cheers, Steve.

I drilled and taped mine. I did mine on a zetec manifold where the injectors would sit as there was much more metal than in the runners.
I think this type of gauge is more acurate.
On the webers I have borrowed a manometer.

I find tuning the carb balance with vacuum gauges much more satisfying and precise.

Im led to believe the 4 pipe method is more accurate, however i used a balancer in the carb mouth successfully. Boggs did the same when they set the
carbs up and only had to make a tiny adjustment. If they are happy with that method then its good for me.
