Carbs and catalyst on a modern engine?
Anyone have any anecdotal info on whether a modern engine such as a Duratec 2.0 could be made the pass the emissions test with carburtettors and a
catalyst?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

It does seem to crop up in related topics, but apart from me wanting to get some opinions about it, a thread with the title given will make future
searches easier

Presumably that's just CO? It's a bit tougher for modern engines, the engine in question would have to be under 0.2 HC and 0.15 NOx, which
is why I asked about the catalyst

I'd say no on the basis rover couldn't get the a series mini through and had a special exemption to allow them to sort out FI on the
thing.
(although this may be complicated by the 5 port head).
