Power estimate – 2.0 Duratec on TB’s

Greetings all,

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what sort of BHP I can realistically expect to see from my (standard) 2.0 Duratec with GSX-R 1000 TB’s?

Its governed by an M3DK, Im considering booking this in at Emerald for some fine tuning and wonder what the result will be.

Anyone running a similar setup?

many thanks

about 205 if your exhaust has a decent manifold

I'd say 190.

Is there a prize ?

exhaust manifold is a work of art - about the most impressive bit on my car (believe the previous owner had it made by Powerspeed).

Inlet manifold is probably letting the side down tho...

Im afraid the only prize is a smug sense of self righteousness

If the car does find its way onto a rolling road I'll let you know the outcome.

cheers!

Depends very much on the dyno used to measure. So anything from 175-195 BHP or more if you bung the dyno operator a few bob!

Hi

Get it booked in with Dave. It's not so much whether it will have 180 or 250 it's what he dose with the mid range that's impressive are you running a TPS. If not see whats needed to get one running. The software should be able to run it.

Cheers Matt

yeah TPS - am interested to see what he could do with more mapping points lower down - that''s where I feel there's most room for improvement.

Am wondering about the BHP out of personal curiosity and because the car's for sale! (would like a big number headline for the ad)

Generally accepted figure for a duratec on throttle bodies is 195bhp

Having said that, that figure is with 48mm bore throttle bodies and GSXR 1000's are only 42mm so you might realisically see around 180-190.

189.
Dave Walker comes highly recommended from me. Get on the cancelations list - i got a slot in less than 24hrs, otherwise you have about a months wait...

i was basing my figure on the tigers that use the webber alpha management, i think they are within 1 or 2 bhp of 205

Having driven the car it doesn't feel like 200BHP. I would have said 180BHP tops.
