Jenvey or Bike carbs
Guys
I am putting a 2.0 zetec engine in my Indy, and had originally planned to go down the Jenvey and Emerald route, but it seems everyone else is running
bike carbs and Megasquirt - is that a good alternative ? are there any major differences in performance and .... how much would I save do you think
going that way ??
Thanks Paul.

You should save a grand if you can do the work yourself.
there wont be a huge differance in power if your works good and you have the correct bits. It will come down to how well you can map it.

The guys at GBSC who are supplying the engine said they might do the set up for me for a fee - I am empted to let them put the engine in sort out the
ecu, carbs etc so it saves me a load of time ... time is in short supply due to work commitments

Not sure bike carbs would be anywhere near as good as jenvey throttle bodies.
You could always go for bike throttle bodies though...

the Jenveys are about £650 - so about 6 x times the price of the bike carb/tb route I think - the difference in cost would probabaly pay for the
install and save me some pain and late nights throwing soldering irons around the garage

If you;re going to spend the same money whether it be jenveys or bike TB's, might as well go the jenvey route then - it'll be a fairly
plug and play installation, with just a rolling road session needed to set up (which you would need either way, and probbaly several sessions if going
bike TB/megasquirt)

you can pick up a set of Bike throttle bodies for £100-£150, Full MS setup for £350 (including sensors and plugs etc), and a manifold for the throttle
bodies. (£100-£200)
jenveys £650-£700, omex ecu kit £700
so i reckon if you go MS route you could do it for half the price. once the MS is up and running its not that difficult to tune with the money you
save you could have a good RR session to optimise performance.
