R1 exhausts on a ZZR1100
I have seen some R1 exhausts (that look nice).
I am going to be using an 1990 ZZR1100 engine, would these exhaust be ok to use, and to pass the IVA.
Just wondering because of the year of the engine i am using.
Also if you have 2 exhausts instead of 1, does this in theory reduce the noise that is made?

Are they aftermarket exhausts - race cans? if so you'll have no problem, aftermarket cans are generally the same internals just different end
fitting for various bikes.
The internals are a syainless perforated tube wrapped with exhaust wadding, the amount and density of wadding varies by manufacturer.
Two wont make it any quieter, just spread the noise around.

Sorry for the hijack , but I am intrigued by this. two exhuast, means half the sound energy into each,(if it originally used one can only - does it
not) so does this not mean the the noise is reduced, a bit like adding a bigger can?

I'm sure there is lots of theory around this, I can only speak from experience, in 1999/2000 I built an RC45 replica from a fireblade, initially
it had one race can, post conversion 2 underseat race cans, and the two guises were within .5db of one another, the twin pipe setup being loudest.
I used micron cans, adding a second identical can.

If you think about it it's the same number of explosions you're silencing through the same diameter silencer it's just the noise
from the explosions alternates between two silencers rather than all going through the same one - if you get what I mean
