2.0 Cylinder head on 1.8 block?? - ZETEC

I know the question was asked back in 2005 (the only info i could find on the search) but;

Can i fit a 2.0L Zetec head on the 1.8 (130ps) block?

Are the 2.0L valves larger than the 1.8?

Will this reduce the compression ratio? (Larger chamber?)

Sorry for the questions. Looking for the easiest way of getting as much power from the new engine!

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

The larger cambers don't match up with the smaller 1.8 bore.
No more power to be gained than putting the 2L cams in the 1.8 head.

Keep it simple!

The Blacktop Valves are the same 1.8 and 2.0L.

My blacktop head is stamped 1.8 2.0, which lead me to think they are the same, but asking on here in the past I was told the heads have different combustion chamber shapes, and a 1.8 head had been tried on a 2.0 with poor results.

All of little relavence if your talking silvertop though

Thanks Guys,

Reason for asking, is for forced air induction. Im currently drafting plans for a supercharger onto the 130ps engine, and was wondering if i should go for a big valve 1.8 head and decompression plate or a 2.0 standard head....

Glad you like the info on my site...

I'm using a decomp plate (2mm), but now using a 2.0 head and engine (after an initial mix and match), but using an EFi head on a 1.8 bottom end for the CVH turbo lump - both methods give me a C/R of just over 8:1, but i'm not wanting to use big boost figures.

I got a lot of the ideas from zetec-turbo.co.uk, but think the site isn't working properly at the moment.
