changing heads on a douvrin 2.2
I have a winnebego lesharo motorhome with a 2.2L Douvrin engine. I have found some info that says there was a 12 valve head made for that engine
resulting in a reasonable power increase. Are other changes needed to change to a 12 valve head and where can I obtain a 12 valve head? Thankyou

its worth about 20hp apparently.
can't find any info on the engine, but i would guess cams, cam drive belts/chains, maybe pocketed pistons. probably not as easy as it first
appears

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Be careful.
Ive got the douvrin 2.2 in my kit car and i looked at performance enhancements..... and decided to change it for a 130ps Zetec.
From memory, the 12V head wont go on the 8V block without changing the deck height as the valves will foul the pistons... I could be wrong, but is it
really worth the hassle?? 20hp and it will still be less than a 2.0 Zetec.
The 8V engine puts out 127(?) ps as standard, so at 147 still isnt a great increase, and theres no more room for development.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

On the plus side for you...
When i swap it out, ill sell the douvrin engine on ebay unless i get an offer!!
They are like rocking horse shite, and performance parts dont exist. the 2.0L turbo was the favourite.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.
