Bike silencer
I want to change my silencer on my MK Indy-Blade. Can I use/or has anybody used a bike silencer rather than the standard silencers supplied. If so
have they just used a Fireblade silencer etc?

I just used a standard r1 can in mine when it was n/a for a while, its does dull the high end a little but the car was still rapid.

Thanks for the reply Mark, the reason I want to change the silencer is that I am currently using the large MK silencer with "cat"
incorporated which I feel is having an adverse effect on performance. Any suggestions what would give me the best performance? Nice to see you Mark
briefly last Saturday at Lydden.

I'd say at least 50% use bike cans
I've had 2 R1's 98dB a 1300 Bandit
50dB and my current road can an aftermarket Viper, straight thru 110dB? 'kin loud but lovely
The R1' give a good performance to noise ratio, the bandit kills the revs a bit but v. quiet for track/mot , the viper is notibly more free
reving at high rpm

I bought a very tidy ZX12 can for my striker for a ridicuously small amount of money (£20).
It's a well made titanium can that flows enough for the 165hp odd that the original bike makes. The only slight snag if the mounting bracket is
in the wrong place for mounting on the passenger side, though removing it and using a strap around the can is a simple fix.

I got a GSX-R 1000 can for my Indyblade. Pretty quiet, only downside it does have a cat in so needed rejetting from the Micron race can it had on
previously (but at least I'm allowed on track now!)
Got it for £7.50 delivered on fleabay. This one could go a similar way :
