1300 X-Flow - Timing

1300 X-flow with standard carb, GT head & Cam. Could you tell me the best set up on timing to get her running sweet !!

Should it be 6 degree advanced ??

should be 6 BTDC unless youve got the lc/hc economy 1.3 in which case its 12 or 10 BTDC respectively.

I'd give it 10 degrees BTDC set at idle, and start from there.

If it pinks, knock it back a couple of degrees until it disappears!

Ideally, you need somewhere around 36 to 38 degrees max advance (depending on compression ratio and cam) measured dynamically at around 4500 to 5000rpm. That's TOTAL advance of course, not static or measured at idle. It wouldn't last too long set like that!
