1.6 starter motor

hi all, i have a 1.6l starter motor from my 1989 sapphire donor car could i use this on my blacktop 2.0l/type 9/zetec 1.8 flywheel? or do i need the 707. thanks.

also is a AES7107 the same as a 707?

Was the saf' pinto or cvh. The cvh should fit but the pinto one probaly will not.

The pinion interfeared with the back of the flywheel with a pinto one I tried.

i think it was a pinto? it was on carbs if that helps

Nope got to be the 1.8 cvh or 2l DOHC starter motor for the silvertop

You can use the pinto starter on a zetec.
I have one fitted on my silvertop,you just need to put a 14mm spacer between the starter and bellhousing.I used m10
penny washers and welded them together.Have had no problems so far.
