prop shaft recomendations
Hi, where is a good place to buy a prop shaft from and how much should i be looking at paying? Is there anywhere that will do them over the phone, or
alternatively close to York area? What dimensions do they need? Is it worth sourcing an old sierra one or do they make them from new parts? Thanks

£130 is what i paid for mine. can't remember if it was dunnig and fairbank (i think it was) or bailey morris...
anyway, assuming its a sierra diff, and type 9 box, they just need the measurement between the diff flange and gearbox oil seal

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I have a racing alloy prop, had it made in america, its an option if you want to keep the weight down, and the price isn't bad, can't
remember what i paid but it wasn't much more than a steel one made in the UK.
not sure if this is who i used but gives you an idea of price.

bj928,
Are you happy with the ally prop you had made and that it'll stand up to all the torque from your engine?
Whats the weight saving compared to a steel one? I know you could just say divide by whatever as its ally vs steel but I guess its going to use more
material to put some strength back into it?
Did you get reamed by customs? And how back was the shipping as although its not very heavy it is quite large which goes whack the costs up (looked a
getting a carbon fibre bonnet sent over many moons ago and gave up!)
