Duratec Exhaust Options

I've got myself a stainless flange, but I was looking at the manifold that came with the ST150 engine and it looks like it's a fairly decent design (equal length primaries) and may be adaptable (mild steel)!

My thoughts were to cut it at the first collector flange and then weld in a suitable diameter down tube.

Only thing is - am I likely to lose a whole lot of torque by going so unrestricted so early on a manifold with such short primaries???

Got a pinto manifold?

If so chop the plate off the std duratec one and the pinto one will line up within a couple of mm anyway

Just need to tweak the pipes to line them up properly.

Edit to say the primaries on the std manifold are waaaaaay too short for a decent performance engine.
