As above, good bits of kit, i've a few new fittings going spare(ie checkvalve etc) that i'll be getting rid of too.

Very good for pre-oiling an engine too fit its been stood. Easy to fit.

To be honest I think they make dry-sump systems over priced and not worth it.

They don't offer the same level of protection as a dry sump, nor do they give the benefits of reduced windage loss and reduced oil consumption, so they certainly don't make dry sump systems obsolete.

I'm thinking about the accusump too.....

I've read some horror stories on blat chat....but I can't work out why people would have a problem with them....agree that full dry sump system would be the ideal....but the accusump is a simple fit, and would probably cope with the driving most of us do (i.e. the odd track day).....

Would also like to hear opinions of the manual vs electric valve.....

You need to account for the sandwich plate, and hoses and joints......

i all ready run an oil cooler, so can just redo one pipe, are people running the electic valves set at a certan presure rating?

you need a check valve so that the oil flow's towards the engine not backwards.

Drysump is best in a perfect world but due to the massive cost unless you're at the top 5% of your race series you'll be fine. Radical use to run a standard sump with a accusump system and never had any problems.

im running one with the electric valve and plumbed into the main oil gallery. its a great bit of kit and if you have a pressure gauge on the dash you can see it working. like said else where unless you can really drive the wheels off a car which if we honest with our selves the vast majority of us cant it renders the full dry sump pretty pointless.

where did you get yours from? i live near leeds any chance of a nosey at it when weather is better,

Did you get one?....

I've just ordered one from think automotive...They do a take off plate with a one way valve wich makes the install very simple and neat.....I went for the 4 pint.

I went fo the manual valve as the accusump will sit on the bulkhead of the car which means the valve will be easily operated via a thin metal bar through the scuttle (under the dash......

4 pint, with aeroquip hose and anodised connectors and take off plate was around £300 delivered....I opted not to buy the brackets as I'll make some up.

Details of the one way plate can be seen here (Page 73):

And here it is finally installed........

I made the brackets myself because the standard ones did not hold the sump where I wanted it......

You Can plug into the oil way...however, on my car I would have to tap a hole which would mean engine out....The other issue is doing it this way, you may also have some push back through the oil pump as there is no one way valve in the circuit. Not so bad if your oil filters are one way.........
