Saab 2.0 turbo engine install

I want to install the saab 900 2.0 t engine.

Gearbox - What gearbox wit fit? Omega? Which is best 2.0 or 2.5 box?

Ecu - I would like to use the saab ecu - How difficult is it to wire? Is there an immobilisor to bypass?

I have taken a look on some of the saab forums but there isnt much info.

I got the 2.5 box (better chance of taking the torque), straight fit, just need a spacer for the conc. slave cylinder. The ecu had no immobilizer to bypass (mines a 98 I think), I got the bit of the loom with the engine that connects all the sensors together and to the ECU, from there I just made the rest of the loom up myself, a handful of relays and fuses etc, nothing too bad once you've got your head around it

Edit to say:
If you've got the engine already then find the engine number now. I've been looking for mine for 2 weeks and I'm buggered if I can find it!
If you do find it, take a piccie of its location for me please

I promise, I'm not stalking your threads, but I don't think it will fit the Sylva.

Remember, you have the Viva crossmember which limits available length in the engine bay, then there's the width of the trannsmission tunnel. It barely takes a type 9, if the Omega box is bigger, it might not fit.

Back axle.
My first car, we fitted a 1.6 Zetec and it was fine. the bloke that bought it off me fitted a 2.0 Zetec on Weber Alpha and the Dellorto 45s we had left on the car. I reckon it probably had 175bhp as it was an otherwise standard engine and the bloke operates a rolling road.
It killed the back axle. When I say killed, I mean that it sheared off the input.
There's no way that a standard Saab engine in standard tune will have less than 200bhp. The axle was originally fitted to a car with less than 60bhp.

Not trying to p**s on your bonfire here - really, I'm not - but as above, I don't think it'll fit and if it does it'll wreck the back axle.

If you still decide to go for it, look up Jak Stoll fore ECUs, we had a 9000 with a Jak Stoll ECU which we got from the USA.

I've never seen a sylva in the flesh to really know how big they are, but a warning like zil above, the engine is quite bulky in all proportions (and heavy).
Somewhere on here I've posted a pic with rough dimensions, have a search if you need.
