zetec bike carb manifold?

2.0 Zetec bike carb manifold, Has anyone tried chopping the plastic zetec inlet manifold down then putting some ruber pipes from carb to manifold? Perhaps the alluminium manifold from a 1.8 zetec?

cutting down the 1800 aluminum one has been done a few times and works on the Fiesta/escort forum's but seems a bit of a bodge to me as miss match in the ports between manifold oval and round throtle bodies just taken up with the mounting hose and also the step caused by the thickness of the manifold, you have tos till use the injector sandwich plate as the 1800 manifold wont fit direct to head. better of with ST170 or make one from a pre-cut blank can reuse the 1800 injectors and sandwich plate

I believe the black top manifold has grooves at the back from 1 cylinder to another IE cylinder 1 to 2 to3 to4 and you can't balance the carbs because of this
the st 170 manifold is different and can be used

the Fiesta inector sandwich plate im using has the same small port connection chanels for the crankcase breather and didnt seem to be an issue when ballancing my throttle bodies with a U tube, they were out to start with adjusted them so all ballanced with cylinder 1 and then checked back through with cylinder 4 as datum, the chanels may have had a minor effect but it ticked over and run a hell of a lot better after i had ballanced them than before

If you respace ZX6 /9 carbs you don't need a manifold as such as you can use bike carb rubbers to bolt to a plate bolted to the head.

All i know is Tim windmill on here could not balance his FI throttle bodies with a B/Top manifold but after changing it to a st170 all was well
