Black top Zetec pick up pipe

Ive got a focus 2lt black top engine that i have shorten the sump on and now in need of a mondeo metal pick up so that i can shorten it to fit the sump. ive just got off the phone from local fords parts desk and they want £127 + vat. Now working on a tight budget are there any other options??

any help would be great.

I'd want the rest of the engine attached for that price.

No longer have one, but both 1.8 focus blackies I had were steel pickup pipes.

my 1.8 focus had a plastic one (Y reg) so there must be some of each kind out there....

surely there must be a way of shortening the pipe if its plastic. It could be sleeved etc even plastic welded
