slivertop - blacktop heads
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I can put a 2l blacktop head onto a 2l slvertop engine?

whats the reason behind wanting to put the blacktop head on the silvertop engine.

ive asked this question before with mixed responces, so ive not done it but according to
this web site its possible says even a
ST170n head a straight fit just modifications to belt tensioner arrangements. ( i personally dont like the look of his double idler/tensioner
arrangements thought) i looked at doing it as found a black top ported head and cams going cheap, only reason for it a can see is black top has solid
lifters if running wild cams or doing ST170 head

Fairly sure you can fit Blacktop to Silvertop OK ... but not the other way round.
Oil ways are different on Silvertop block to deliver sufficient oil pressure to hydraulic lifters.
