Modern Deisel - Classic car - wow
A fascinating look at what modern technology can do with old time simplicity and weight saving.

And a roll cage and full harness seat belts would give you modern crash protection for very little extra weight.
Just need to sort the electronics and you have a fantastic economical commuter.

Wow that's quite a shocker!
I wonder why Mercedes even bothered? There is nothing to be had from it? Other then a learning experience.
Impressive numbers though, 500Nm of touque!
Amazing how much "elf n safety" weighs.
Good find

I'm waiting for Ford to reproduce the Mk1 Escort, with MX5 transmission and running gear. Could be done so easily. It'll never happen
though.

I know of a fairly solid 190 Merc for sale if anyone fancies making their own!
As said though it's just what a lot of enthusiasts have been doing for years, they've hardly invented anything new but they do have the
know-how to get these modern diesels to run where many of us would struggle.
