Megajolt - green led on?

Should the green led be on when the power is on or should it get brighter as i press the throttle (TPS) as it does on mine?

Thanks
Dan

mine just comes on when i turn the ignition on all the way.

Sounds like you have it wired up wrong

Is it giving a sensible output to your tacho?

hmm i did spot your other thread but its hard to advise without actually being at the computer.

I thought you just couldnt flash a new map to it?

Are you getting no communication between the MJ and your laptop? i.e. the virtual rev counter doesnt fire up when you start the engine?

Does your green light only respond to TPS position? Does it not come straight on when you turn the ignition? If you disconnect the TPS does the light go out? If yes to all of these questions then your problem is your MJ isnt getting consistent power because it is incorrectly wired!

Only getting led when i operate the TPS on the throttle. Otherwise no led. Cant make it talk to pc but maybe it's the same problem. I have burnt out my starter motor (another story) so cant even run it up to test it. I had the engine running on the EDIS alone so at least it works just need the megajolt to complete the job

okay bud, we've nailed it

your tps position input to the MJ has been connected to the +12v power input. Did you make the loom? Either way its a pretty easy fix. Ensure everything is connected as below:

have you wired it up by the colours of the wires coming out of the plug by any chance?

just for info. the colours of the wires on the plug are all wrong and dont match the colours in the picture above.

you need to work it out by the pins on the unit from the picture above not the wire colour.

It's my own loom. Not follow any wiring colours. I thought i had wired it up as above. Unless its wrong inside. Though i'd solderded it up ok. Wil have to test it with mulit meter i think...

Can't think of the best way to word this, so here goes

Make sure that u follow the wiring diagram correctly, aw making sure you follow the connections, and looking at the plug the right way round.

Ie have you followed the diagram looking at the front or back of the plug? As in, the side that plugs into mj or the side the wires come out?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Ahhh you made the loom yourself....

Did you take the pin out from looking at the back of the plug or Front..... will make all the difference.

The drawing below shows pins on the Unit I think

Wired up as per picture (and the right way round )

Just need to double check what cd.thomson said about wiring the tps to +12v instead of tps. Apart from that i think he solved it one

Thanks guys
and two points to cd.thomson. (if i could afford a speedboat i would send you one )
