Suspension Setup - H22 powered RWD

Hi

As I now have purchased a complete working donor honda prelude for the RWD H22 Locost, I was wondering

1. which hubs most builders use, that can have big disks and 4/6pot caliper break setups as well. preludes have plenty of options on that front and if prelude hubs can be utilised somehow that would be great.

2. Using aftermarket hubs I don't think would be an issue but if there are any companies/people who can make custom driveshafts to mate H22 gearbox to these non H22 hubs, I would really appreciate if you can provide some contact details.

3. Along with different hubs, which is the common donor car for the steering rack? Would the prelude rack be the best option to go for as track will be kept indentical to the prelude?

4. Do most go for DIY wishbones or are there reliable fast turn-around shops in UK for custom ones?

5. Coilovers: what brand do most opt for? I have 3 sets of prelude suspensions at hand: 1 set of standard, 1 set of Mugen (this is the best one by far) and 1 set of Teins. but i doubt those could be made useful unless they can be used?

Track 67 inches (as 4th gen prelude's)
Wheelbase 89/90 inches

I am compiling the list of all the suppliers and parts that I would require so any help is much appreciated.

I'll get pics of the prelude suspension setup for advice if oem front hubs can be used, as I can get hold of easily ad cheaply. Handbrake could be an issue with prelude hubs unless there is a way around using both front sets of hubs on both axles.

Overall Budget (exc donor car already purchased) is 3K. Already have 2 sets of 17s, 1 set of 16s and 2 sets of 15s wheels for this car.

once I've gathered this, next part will be chassis design but i'm still in research mode. All determined so far is that H22 engine and box is something I want in the car as I abs love these engines and a 220bhp/165lb engine in a 500-600kg car should be fast enough for me.

Sorry for all these questions.

Many thanks
Arslan

1. which hubs most builders use, that can have big disks and 4/6pot caliper break setups as well. preludes have plenty of options on that front and if prelude hubs can be utilised somehow that would be great.

1. Sierra, Cortina, BMW

2. Using aftermarket hubs I don't think would be an issue but if there are any companies/people who can make custom driveshafts to mate H22 gearbox to these non H22 hubs, I would really appreciate if you can provide some contact details.

2. I'm not sure, but do a search i'm sure it's been talked about before.

3. Along with different hubs, which is the common donor car for the steering rack? Would the prelude rack be the best option to go for as track will be kept indentical to the prelude?

3. Sierra, Escort... prelude rack will have power steering so no good.

4. Do most go for DIY wishbones or are there reliable fast turn-around shops in UK for custom ones?

4. Bit of a mine field, personally i'd go DIY if you want to keep costs down, especially if it's not using the normal bits.

5. Coilovers: what brand do most opt for? I have 3 sets of prelude suspensions at hand: 1 set of standard, 1 set of Mugen (this is the best one by far) and 1 set of Teins. but i doubt those could be made useful unless they can be used?

5. I would imagine the prelude suspension is no use as its not rated to the correct weight, plus probably not coilovers???
