Amazing how much value a bit of red paint adds on! Prob has been well built but not worth nearly as much as that.

Cheers

Rich

add the bits up and factor in the machining and so on - £200 worth of pistons, lightened flywheel etc and its probably not as excessive as it looks.

Then again - £1000 plus for half a pinto is soooooo excessive when a whole Zetec is £700 new!!

and thats only what the seller put it on sale for, not the actual value. its only worth what anyone will pay for it, and nobody paid anything for it yet.

he could have easily put it on for £1,000,000

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I spent more than that on mine but I think I got alot more of a bottom end than that
and my red paint only cost me about £20 in wire brushes & paint (elbow grease is free )

thats a bit of a rip off never mind the £150 surcharge for a bog std sierra/granada engine....

the same money got my head and block dipped (cleaned), skimmed (head and block), crank re-grind, full bottom end ballance, rebore to 93mm, an oil scraper plate, pickup pipe mod, bronze valve guides (supply and fit), 3 angle valve seats cut, 8 new valves, new std clutch (balaced with the rest), vernier cam pulley, new bearings (all of them inc. cam), head bolts, a dummy build to check clearance, pistons toped to suit height of block, bottom end gasket set and a new water pump

only downside was I had to strip it down and rebuild it myself (if you think thats a downside - I actually like doing that bit )

A classic example of someone selling nothing for a rediculous price.

The internals arent even cleaned properly, and the "1mm oversize" rebore means the block isnt as strong as it was, and has been blown up at some point!!

I chuckled when i saw the surcharge part!!

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I doubt it on a pinto, the 1mm over size won't hurt it - my 205 block is 2.25mm oversize
(it would be a different story if you wanted to stick a big turbo on it though )
