Which cheap clutch master cylinder?

Just a quick one.

Having had enough of my heavy, short clutch I actually looked at the master the other day, only to realise it's a 5/8" Girling jobbie.
Now, what I need is a lighter, longer pedal. And I can't really be bothered to alter the pedal ratio, as the mounting holes and all quite low and I'm not sure I could move the pivot about much. So what size cylinder would be best to fit (I'm guessing 1/2"? ) and what's the cheapest place to get one? I'm assuming most bikes use 1/2" masters for their brake systems, but are they all 1/2", or is there a preferred version?

Cheers all.

Land Rover Series 3 Clutch from Paddockspares.com £19 genuine Girling / Lucas one. £10 for the pattern one.
All you need extra is the saddle clamp/ Clevis jobby from Rally Design or Europaspares.
Just remember its a Land Rover one so the thread on the end of the actuating rod is Imperial not metric.

Linky - Cylinder

Linky Clevis bit

Like I said, check the thread, as I am sure its imperial (5 years ago when I got mine)

Hope this helps.

Hold it !

5/8" is the smallest bore cylinder you will find ---- Landrover cylinders are 3/4"

I was thinking the same about diameter of the cylinder. Could you move the slave to give more mechanical leverage.

The slave is the standard bike one and is pretty fixed position wise due to how it bolts onto the engine. Changing to a different slave would require quite a lot of work when a different master would do the job.

If it is 3/4", anyone want a Series III Landrover clutch master cylinder? Just glad I went for the pattern part now.

Whilst Paddock are quick off the mark with their postage, it turns out the cylinder is 3/4" after all.

So where can I get a cheap 1/2" version from?
