Zetecs again
Just a quickie, is there a height difference between a 1.8 and 2.0 Zetecs. Needing to fit to an early book Locost so every mm would help.
Cheers

I think it's just the bore that's different on the silver tops. Certainly the 1.6/1.8/2.0 are interchangeable in the original Fords on
the original mounts. It's just ancillaries that have to be changed on the Mondeo engines (ie the 2.0) to go into the smaller cars.

same height, no difference. Some people raise the height of the front rails to give an additional inch in height. The top ot the timing cover is very
close to the nosecone on an MK Indy which is higher than the early locost chasis.

Thanks for the replies, my car's been on the road since 2004, and the old crossflow is getting a little tired. I've got most of the bits
to build a fresh one, but I quite fancy summat a bit more modern for a change.
For what I can get for the crossflow bits, I should be able to fund the zetec install.
In light of this, expect to see a few crossflow bits in the for sale section soon
