Air bleed

During the recent MOT on my MK Indy-Fireblade the %Co reading was 7.6 which is way above my %Co limit of 3.5. I then pulled off just one of the rubber tubes that link the small vents on the inlet manifold together. The reading dropped to .86% way within the limits and it does not appear to have any adverse affect on the engine. Question is what are these vents designed to do, is the engine more efficient now or should I now replace the tube? Barry

what year fireblade?

carb's or injection?

i would put it back on if its been running ok

better off rich than lean

if its a 893/919 carb motor you will struggle like hell to get 3.5% co

95 Blade with carbs

Got the readings in front of me. With tube on %Co 7.60, re-tested with one tube removed %Co .86. Have now replaced tube though I have noticed that it does run better at low revs. Barry
