Home now, got a tow from Sarahs dad, we were only 15 miles from home.

Problems started at thetford, limped as far as we could

My sentiments exactly!

There is some intermittent issue with the ecu somewhere as it now seems to be running fine

I'll get it properly hot tomorrow night and see if I can recreate the problems again.

The big problem is I have now lost confidence on long journeys until I know I have definately fixed the problem! Being an intermittent one it could take a while to track down.

I think an OMEX is coming sooner than expected and new wheels will have to go on hold

I know exactly what you mean about confidence - you dare not go out unless you have 4 hours spare (thats how long RAC took last time to get me home)

Hope you get it sorted soon

i did another post on the previous post.

Is it easy to open MS and check it over? Add heatsinks on the chips? Probably attach a computer fan to cool it down?
