Cooling question
I have a small concern that i would like the LCB Massive to please consider.
My 2.0 zetec ticks over with the cooling fan coming on at 95 deg and switching off at 90 deg.
Now when i am driving the temperature drops to between 80-82 deg,i know this is to cool for a zetec so need to find a solution.
I am thinking about blanking part of the inside of the nose cone,to try and reduce the air flow when moving.Has anyone had a similar problem and do
you all think by doing this,it will have the opposite effect and make it over heat.
All advice will be greatly recieved,as always.

Have you tried fitting a higher rated thermostat or thought about changing the size of the water pump pulley?

Your lucky! My fan comes on at 86 and goes off at 82. I've got a part number for a fan switch that comes on at 105 and goes off at 100. Want
one???
I'll be hunting around the valley the morn if you know anywhere there that is recommended let me know my Stoneliegh buddy

Do you have a thermostat fitted?
Where is your gauge reading the temp from, before or after the thermostat?

I have considered the thermostat,as it does seem to open rather quickly after start up but would that effect the temperature when the engine is up to
running temperature.
As far as the pulley goes,it's a standard mondeo pulley and was not aware bigger ones could be bought.

Steve, if you let me know how much wedge you need for a switch,i would love one marra.I would also be very grateful for the starter motor. The only
place i know on't valley is Halfrauds.
Davie/Warren there is a stat fitted but i have no idea what it is rated at.It is taking the temp from the stat housing after the stat.

The stat should control the coolant temp. bringing the coolant temperature up quickly and then maintaining it at the correct temp.
If you're gauge is not on the engine side of the stat then you are not reading true engine temp.

Davie, now that i think about it,the sender is in the flow under and before the stat.I removed the ford sender and screwed in the aftermarket one.
Not sure about other suppliers on the valley,Steve. but i am sure there must be.I will have a look in the YP in the morning and let you know if i find
owt before you do.

Sounds like you need a new stat then.

Steve,
Try Euro car parts just near the new hotel, or if you are out and about try GD Auto parts at Chester le Street he has a good stock and cheap.
Think about it, think about it again and then do it.
