Shonky zetec twin 40 manifold?

That is a manifold my mate has just bought off ebay to connect his DCOE's up. The error is approximately 10-12mm in the spacing between no's 2+3.

I dont doubt with some fairly hefty hacking and slashing of the carb linkage it could be made to work, but is that the norm? Or has he bought a lemon?

I'd have thought all DCOE's would have the same pitching - looking at it there's only about 10-12mm between spindle ends so it'd be hit and miss as to if the carbs would start to interfer with one another anyway.......

Worthy of a refund? or live with it cos they're all like that?

I bought one from ebay had problems so contacted the seller who in his defence sent another out. Same problem though so I think a dodgy mould. I shave some of the spindle to get it ot fit not had any problems
