i seem to remember it was quite expensive last time i looked, and i've got enough rubber pipe to do it with, but its got to go down the tunnel
with the exhaust, so should do it with something a bit more resistant to heat

Maybe worth an ask.

An industrial hydraulics and pipe work supplier will stock it.I used 8mm nylon air line for a return line to the tank. They will also have fittings to
suit.

Yes Nylon pipe is fuel resistant as is HDPE. Both are commonly used in automotive fuel systems...
Just be sure what you are buying is actually one of those though.... otherwise it could end in a mess!

My return line is just at atmospheric pressure so I have just pushed it into a rubber hose attached to the fuel reg and secured with a pipe clip, If
you are using for a pressurized system then you can get various types of connections with olives or
clamp type fittings as well as push fit but I wouldn't use the push fit type.
I would find a local supplier and ask them what they have.

If going for IVA make sure it's correctly marked up with numbers they recognise (or a bit of official looking paper that indicates the numbers
on it are ok).

For IVA you will need to prove that the pipe is fit for purpose, Robin Hood will sell you the pipe and if you ask give you a letter stating the
suitability and spec of the pipe.

The best stuff is the protected poly flexy pipe used for liquid petroleum gas -- just about any LPG kit supplier such as Tinley Tech will sell you a
6 metre and the special ends it is available in 6mm and 8mm nomminal bore (actual slightly bigger).

You might find it cheaper from ebay suppliers.
