xflow Oil flow

Hello,

Am I correct in saying that (on a crossflow) the pump sucks oil up from the sump, pushes it under pressure into the oil filter, where it enters the engine from the central hole in the filter?

I'm trying to figure out why I spun a bearing, and think it might be pump/filter related.

oil filters flow from outside to inside hole.
There is a one ay filter so oil flow does not occur the other way round.
