help has anyone fitted a 99 4xv r1 engine into a car, i need some information on carb set up i have put an itg air filter and it sounds awfull regards nige:

What else have you done to it ? It was designed to run with the manufacturers airbox, by fitting a different filter it is now probab;ly drawing air a lot easier than it expects.

Speak to andy from abperformance, althought he is a blade guru theres not a lot he dosn't know about modifing bike engines.

Suspect you will need to block a few air corrector holes and fit a dynojet kit.

We did sucessfully run ChrisS's j55 on its original airbox ( turned upside down) without any issues or need for adjustment. It even passed SVA emissions with the MK loan cat.
